Toronto Blue Jays youth showing promise
In the offseason Jays ownership announced that they would be going in a new direction with a full scale rebuild. To start, they remodeled the coaching staff, and traded staff ace Roy Halladay to the Philadelphia Phillies for a trio of prospects. Many questions surrounded the nothbet ting odds of the Jays as the pitching staff would be one looking to create a new identity and the offense was decent at best. Thus far in the season the young Jays have shown a lot of promise, as they lead the league in home runs and four of the six pitchers who have started for them have flirted with no hitters. Last night Brett Cecil one of the Jays top pitching prospects became the sixth pitcher to flirt with a no hitter. Not only did he flirt with a no hitter, but for the first six innings of the game he flirted with a perfect game a rarity in all of baseball. When betting on sports teams such as the Blue Jays, there is no guarantee how you will fare, however if the Blue Jays can become more consistent, they may be able to squeak into the playoffs.
Niemi rebounds with steady effort after dreadful game 1
Antti Niemi entered the 2009- 2010 season expecting to be the backup goalie for the Chicago Blackhawks, a team that had not won the Stanley Cup since 1962. Present day, Niemi in this same season 2009-2010 is the starting goalie for the Blackhawks who are in a second round playoff matchup with the Vancouver Canucks. Similar to game one of the first round, Niemi stood out like a sore thumb in game one of round two against the Canucks, as he was beaten five times in a five to one loss. As a result, many critics pondered whether or not Blackhawk coach Joel Quenneville had made the correct decision in choosing the rookie Niemi to lead the Blackhawks back to the Promised Land instead of veteran Cristobal Huet. However similar to game two of round one, Niemi rebounded with a strong steady effort to help the Blackhawks tie the series with the Canucks at one game apiece. When placing a bet on NHL playoffs for teams such as the Blackhawks, betters should keep in mind that the series are best of sevens. In other words if the Blackhawks maintain their strategy of losing the first game to open each playoff series, there is a good chance they can come back with Niemi and win the matchup.
